Most traders who wish to stay in business over the long term generally approach their work using a trading plan which they expect to follow closely. Nevertheless, to keep to a trading plan in a disciplined way is not as easy as you might initially think.
Regardless of how effective a trading system might be in theory, the truth remains that a system is only as good as how much discipline the trader using it maintains during its implementation in practice. If the trader only follows their trading system partially, then they will only obtain partial results that will probably not be the results they want.
Nevertheless, some traders permit some flexibility to enter their trading systems. Often, this might come into plan when taking profits, for example. Having this type of flexibility and being able to exercise judgment can even be a key element in such traders
